Seiko was founded in 1881 by Japanese entrepreneur Kintaro Hattori. At the age of 22, he already had a strong business sense and opened a shop in the centre of Tokyo, where he offered watches for sale and also accepted them for repair. This entrepreneurial spirit continues to this day, even after the founder's passing. The company handles the entire production process itself, and is also responsible for the manufacture of all the individual parts.

Some of the brand's watch technologies were adopted and are now considered the global standard in the watch market. The company even developed the world's first quartz watch, the Quartz Astron, which was first available in 1969. The Spring Drive technology, introduced in 1999, was also considered an exclusive world first. A precision spring drive makes the watches more accurate than a purely mechanical timepiece. In 2012, Seiko celebrated another success, with the world's first GPS solar watch, also from the Astron range.

The Presage series stands for Japanese craftsmanship and aesthetics. A precise mechanical movement and a valuable wealth of knowledge are the linked components behind the collection. The automatic watches with their elegant cases have the option of manual winding. The drive converts the wearer's every movement into energy to wind the mainspring. The power reserve is over 45 hours, which means that the watch will not stop if it is not worn or wound for a day.

Seiko produces the self-winding calibres for the watch itself. Except for the jewels, all the components of the watches are assembled by the company in-house. This way, the brand ensures that every screw and gear fits perfectly and holds the watch together with precision. Seiko is the only company in the world to carry out this unique production process, which ensures a high degree of accuracy. The innovative Spring Drive mechanism of some models, a revolutionary system that has been refined over decades, guarantees precision by the second with a maximum deviation of one second per day. Also guaranteed is a power reserve of no less than 72 hours and a sophisticated mechanism for the unique sliding movement of the hands.

Noble Seiko Presage ladies' watches

The popular model is not only available for men, but also for the ladies of creation. The high-quality timepiece with a glass back impresses with a stainless steel case and bracelet, as well as a mechanical winding mechanism with automatic. All the ladies' round watches are water-resistant to 5 bar and have a 41-hour power reserve. The 34 mm automatic watch with domed Hardlex crystal is available in cream, grey, pink, red and blue dial colours. In addition, the functional watches come with a screwed case back and a double folding clasp with safety pusher. Selected models are also available with a leather strap.

Seiko Presage Sharp Edged

The Sharp Edged series stands for distinctive sophistication and simplicity. Traditional Japanese aesthetic sense is accentuated by filigree dials and clean, modern case contours. The case and bracelet of the series are composed of countless smooth surfaces with a modern edge. As a result, the watch shines and glows from every angle. The main part of the collection has a hard coating that protects both the bracelet and the case from scratches. The polish gives the watch an enchanting brilliance, which is enhanced by its sharp edges, creating a multi-dimensional effect.

In the dials, the so-called traditional asanoha or hemp leaf pattern is featured. This has been used in Japanese culture for over a thousand years, since the Heian period. The sharp-edged, geometric pattern on the dial is fine and rich in texture. Depending on the angle and incidence of light, different shades and gradations of colour can be seen. There are the following dial colours in connection with the Japanese tradition:
