The story of the Tissot T-Touch

Touch functions on mobile phones and wristwatches have become more and more popular. More than two decades ago, Tissot already knew that this was the direction of the future. In 1999, it launched its first timepiece with a dial that responded to touch. Interest was great and further developments followed. The T-Touch range now includes a number of watches with a touch screen to facilitate the use of the functions.

The main aim of these developments was to make the watches even easier to use and to equip them with additional functions. While in the 1990s the main features were still buttons and dials on the side of the watch, Tissot took a different approach with the T-Touch collection. These developments were of particular interest to customers who like to be outdoors and do not always have the opportunity to spend a lot of time adjusting their watches.

Functional features for any adventure

The Tissot T-Touch models still offer a wide range of functions. You can use the touch screen to set the compass or altimeter. If you need a quick weather forecast or want to know the current temperature, you can call up the information on the display in just a few simple steps. The basic features of the watches have now become classics. Tissot shows that it is possible to combine analogue and digital design in harmony.

The interplay between smartwatch and analogue watch

Tissot created a watch that combined the best of both worlds. The T-Touch Connect makes it possible to connect a seemingly analogue watch to a smartphone, opening up new possibilities for watch enthusiasts. Some models in the T-Touch collection are equipped with a solar module with integrated solar cells (T-Touch Connect Solar). This ensures that the battery is constantly recharged by solar energy and therefore has a long service life. The intelligent features are particularly evident in the display and dial. The dial is made of glass that is very sensitive to touch. Just a little pressure is enough to change settings. The settings are displayed on the integrated mini-display. At first glance, the Tissot T-Touch models, including the Connect version, are reminiscent of traditional analogue wristwatches.

Design in different versions

Tissot watches stand out with their robust and classic design. This is also evident in the Tissot T-Touch watches, also known as chronographs. The titanium cases are very durable and can withstand a lot of sporting activity. The dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that reacts to the touch of your fingers. For the straps, you can choose between titanium or rubber. Both materials are robust, timeless and available in a range of colours. Each strap can also be personalised or exchanged.

The Tissot T-Touch Connect operating system

A display needs information to be able to show it. In the T-Touch Connect, the quartz movement is equipped with an operating system known as Sw-ALPS. This gives you the advantage of being able to connect the T-Touch Connect with your smartphone, which is possible with iOS, Android and Harmony OS. Our customers receive regular updates that constantly expand the existing features.

It is now possible to keep track of your activity with the watches in the collection T-Touch. Calories burned or steps taken are displayed. Users can also see the distance covered in a given period of time. The Tissot models are therefore ideal for both men and women. Thanks to the use of ceramics, titanium and sapphire crystal, models such as the T Touch Connect Solar can also withstand shocks.

Quality materials with a long life

Tissot is synonymous with timepieces that last for years. This is partly due to the materials used. The ceramic used in the T-Touch series is a hard material that can withstand knocks and scratches. Ceramic also has the advantage that it does not oxidise and therefore does not change colour. T-Touch watches are also water resistant to 100 metres and protected against dust and dirt.
